This one took a long time to get all the poses and the layout the way I wanted…but I had alot of fun with it 🙂
I was trying to get across the dynamism of a good spanking… it’s also of course an homage to old comics and the original Batman show which I watched when I was little and of course imagined spankings instead of all the dumb fights they had 🙂

I feel like it’s 1981 again and I’m waiting for the next X-Men to come out. I love so much about this panel- the way the “crescendo of thwacks” ( Herman Wouk, CITY BOY) culminates in our favorite word ( SPANK!); the mixed expression of outrage and enthrallment in pose three; the foot pressed into the floor in the final one. You wring expressions out of flying bare feet with same deft spankiness that you bring out in your faces. What I have gotten most from all your work over the years is the honesty and sensitivity with which you tell your story. More than in any other form of media ( National Lampoon’s To School Issue, Frontier Romance comics startle, Daphne Merkin’s New Yorker article in the 90’s, Sex With Shakespeare more recently) you so capture what it means to be a spanko. And you make me feel less alone. I’m sure I speak for many.

Thank you soooo much for writing…it’s a big boost to get such nice comments!! 🙂 I read cartoony comics when I was little like Little Lulu and Little Dot (and they had spankings in them which made them even better!)…when I was a teenager I discovered ElfQuest…and later as a young adult I was into underground comix like Hate…I only really started looking at superhero comics recently to learn more about the comics medium…I can’t say I relate to the stories as much…but some of the artists were just absolute masters…it’s very inspiring and I get alot of ideas about how to show action and composition and flow across the page 🙂

I love this. It really does capture the spirit of a good sound spanking — a desperate dance to a high energy beat, twist and shout, kick and slide, bounce and body roll, all performed in upturned suspension over the spanker’s knee. The focus is on that very red bare bottom but, head to toe, there is much to see.
Your experience might also be described as a wild ride at the carnival of your choice. Thank you for sharing your wonderful time.
