When I first read Ray Bradbury’s book I was 9 or 10…I knew it was something special…a kind of sustained poem with horror, fantasy, and Americana all rolled into one… of course me being me I was disappointed there were no spankings in the book… so here’s my version ![]()

Nice! I think I read everything by Bradbury when I was a kid, but I remember very little of the stories now. There were spankings in hundreds of stories I read, but mostly just in my own imagination. Happy Halloween!

mostly just in my imagination too…but sometimes those are the best kind π

I like that position, with her knees bent and feet in the air. It heightens her submission and his domination of her. The man in the white gloves strikes again!

it is indeed a fun position π

This is such a beautiful book. I read it at 14, amazed that someone could so perfectly catch the feeling I got around Halloween: the bittersweet feeling of time passing, the nameless melancholic dread I felt of my loved onesβ mortality even as I wanted to get lost in the magic of the season and holiday.
The father in the book was an older man which played into those feelings, but also gave rise to the idea that he also might have old fashioned ideas.
The thread/ threat of spanking was inextricably woven into my childhood reveries – and your beautiful storytelling and artwork capture those feelings in the same way Bradbury did with my nameless, bittersweet October melancholy

thank you for your kind words π
I loved that story too and agree it perfectly captured that bittersweet feeling of time passing…
